Position Title:  Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic
Location: Prince George, BC

General

Qualifications:

  • Work effectively with business and IT department staff throughout the enterprise, building positive working relationships.
  • Meet with internal customers to assess needs, determine business requirements, and document them.
  • Create technical specifications for delivering business solutions.
  • Design and develop applications to meet business requirements, using department specified programming tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Develop test plans, complete unit and system level tests, and document results.
  • Participate in and guide user testing.
  • Support, enhance, and maintain existing business applications to assure their availability, reliability, performance, and fit to evolving requirements. Effectively resolve production problems in a timely manner.
  • Self-manage your work plans, balancing short and long-term priorities to obtain best results.
  • Work within standard IT project management requirements for the coordination, timely completion, and sign-off of assigned tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:

  • The ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic journeyman’s trade qualification (B.C. tickets) or an Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanic’s ticket.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Superior troubleshooting skills as well as welding and fabricating experience.
  • Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset.
