CO-OP OPPORTUNITY: Mechanical Engineer (4 or 8 month term)

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is open to post-secondary students who are interested in gaining experience in the Forest Industry.  Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual dedicated to assisting the mill to achieve world class efficiency and reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

  • Contribute technical support and planning to maintenance department
  • Assist with developing and implementing a preventative maintenance system
  • Computer skills, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Identify, design and implement innovative, high return projects that enhance the operation and maintenance of the facility

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in the Forest Industry is an asset 
  • Computer skills, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; capable of working in a team environment
  • Must be a self starter
  • Previous experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an asset
