CO-OP OPPORTUNITY: Wood Products Marketing - Internship (4 or 8 month term)

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the General Manager of Global Supply Chain, you will be required to develop an offshore freight optimization model which will determine the most economical means of delivering the product to the offshore reloads. 

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

The model being developed will need to deal with two scenarios:

  • Annual/Period Plan
    • Develop an optimization model based on sales plan, mill supply (by product), and transportation costs to the final destination
    • Weekly Plan
      • Based on the Annual/Period Plan – create the weekly order file plan based on the reload constraints and the most economical transportation costs
      • To help you get a good understanding of the supply and transportation components of the offshore program, you will spend approximately 25% to 40% of your time providing coverage for the Logistics Coordinator and Transportation Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office Products
  • Ability to operate independently
