Position Title: Front Line Supervisor (2)
Location: Chetwynd, British Columbia

General

This is a permanent position and the successful candidate will be a team member of the production department, focusing on leading the team to achieve and exceed key performance indicator (KPI) targets in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement.

Major Duties:

As a member of the Chetwynd team you will:

  • Maintain the highest standards with respect to safety at all times, lead by example and ensure your   team follows all policies, procedures, practices and WorkSafeBC regulations.
  • Address unsafe conditions as required.
  • Ensure safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee engagement targets are met and timely action is taken when targets are not met.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and look for opportunities to reduce cost, while safely meeting production targets.
  • Coach, train and support team members to maximize performance.
  • Foster a culture of open communication with employees in all departments and at all levels.
  • Engage all employees to provide valuable input into work processes and systems.
  • Ensure the timely implementation of key Corporate and Operational initiatives.
  • Foster of culture of continuous improvement through implementation and sustainment of Canfor Operating System principles.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:

  • Safe work habits and a working knowledge of WorkSafeBC OH&S regulations.
  • Working knowledge of web-based computer applications and Microsoft Office.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a diploma in Wood Products Manufacturing and or supervisory background.
