Industrial Warehouse Person

General
This permanent position is available immediately at our Taylor Pulp operation.
Major Duties:
As a member of the Stores department your duties include:
- Responsible for the warehouse and the functions of receiving/shipping, storing and issuing of stores inventory and efficient utilization of the inventory.
- Ensure safe working conditions and good housekeeping are maintained in stores.
- Maintain records on inventory control system.
- Responsible for all legal compliance documentation associated with shipping/receiving/ storing.
- Monitor and assess inventoried items and expedite deliveries of materials and services.
- Maintain facilities as required.
- Work closely with departmental heads and supervisors to determine current and future sourcing requirements, determine the best method for fulfilling those needs, and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of the process.
- Measure and track performance of key indicators, including usage trends and cost reduction programs
- Participate in the evaluation of suppliers.
- Manage service level agreements and vendor contracts.
- Effectively communicate plans, results and ideas to a wide range of internal and external audiences.
- Assume responsibilities of Materials Manager in his absence.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:
Qualified applicants must have Post secondary education with, or working towards, PMAC certification, or equivalent mastery of supply chain principles and theories combined with 3+ years of relevant experience. Alternatively, the successful candidate will possess a valid industrial warehouse person ticket and proven performance in an industrial setting. Grade 12 or equivalent is also required along with the ability to pass the Mechanical Aptitude and Learning Adaptability tests.
- The ideal candidate should possess excellent organizational skills, be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and database applications and should be a self-starter with significant initiative.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical and mathematical skills are also required.
