Position Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Houston, British Columbia
Closing Date: February 3, 2012
General:
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, Houston Operations, the Maintenance Supervisor is a key member of the Maintenance Team. The position is responsible for the supervision of maintenance crews; ensuring work is performed without undue risk and in compliance with all safety regulations, policies and procedures. The focus will be on coaching/developing employees to achieve results in safety, work quality and cost effectiveness and to constructively direct them to optimize their performance.
Major Duties:
- Supervise within the framework of a Continuous Improvement culture, providing leadership in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement
- Develop targets and direct the teams’ focus to address off-side key performance indicators (KPI’s)
- Provide direction and support to reports and foster a highly effective working relationship with all employees
- Ensure the preventative maintenance program is developed and followed and that cost targets are within budget
- Coordinate the planned work of crews to maximize performance
- Maintain high standards of work performance
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:
- A strong commitment to safety
- Proven leadership skills, coupled with the ability to effectively manage people in a team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong organizational skills with the desire to accept the challenge of working in continually changing internal and external business conditions
Preferences:
The candidate should possess an interprovincial trade qualification, as well as previous industrial Supervisory experience.
