Position Title: Maintenance Superintendent
Location: Vavenby, British Columbia

General
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Supervisor is a key member of the Maintenance Team. The position is responsible for the safety, supervision, organization and training of maintenance crews; ensuring work is performed without undue risk and in compliance with all safety regulations, policies and procedures. The focus will be on coaching/developing employees to achieve results in safety, work quality and cost effectiveness and to constructively direct them to optimize their performance.
Major Duties:
- Supervise within the framework of a Continuous Improvement culture, providing leadership in safety, quality, cost, delivery and employee engagement.
- Develop targets and direct the team’s focus to address off-side key performance indicators (KPI’s), such as machine uptime, preventative maintenance on-track, and so on.
- Provide direction and support to employees on the crew and foster a highly effective working relationship with all employees.
- Work with the Superintendent to ensure the preventative maintenance program is developed and followed with cost targets staying within budget.
- Coordinate the planned work of crews to maximize performance.
- Maintain high standards of work performance.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Exceptional safe working habits and a working knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations.
- Proven leadership skills, coupled with the ability to effectively manage people in a team environment.
- Proficient with computerized business applications, especially computerized maintenance management systems (E.g. Synergen or similar).
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
Preference may be given to those with extensive experience with:
- Industrial manufacturing.
- Trades certification.
