Position Title: Manager, Product Development And Specialty Sales
Location: Canfor Wood Products Marketing, Vancouver, BC

General
As a result of Canfor’s strategic initiative of continually improving our fibre source, we have an immediate need to aggressively pursue sales opportunities for high value wood products in our global markets. Canfor Wood Products Marketing is seeking a highly qualified individual to fulfill the role of identifying and developing new high value products that can be produced at Canfor’s primary sawmills and successfully marketed in North America and other regions of the globe. The successful candidate will also be responsible for sales of Canfor’s SilvaStar product line, and the promotion of FSC certified products in North America.
Major Duties:
- Creation and delivery of a sound specialty products business plan
- Development of new value added products from all Canfor operations
- Sales management of specialty products manufactured at Canfor USA
- Promotion and sales coordination of FSC certified products
- Promotion and sales of China specialty products in North America
- Inventory management and supply chain coordination
- Scheduling specialty production plans in conjunction with Canfor operating personnel
Qualifications:
- Post secondary degree/diploma
- Minimum 10 years of lumber sales experience
- Strong knowledge of lumber manufacturing
- Ability to evaluate product yields, market values, and mill returns
- Sound comprehension of financial analysis
- Solid leadership skills
- Excellent communication and relationship skills
- Strong ability in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
