  • Awarded annually to a Grade 12 student currently enrolled in Grande Cache Community High School or Grande Cache Outreach School.

Criteria

  • Demonstrated above-average academic achievement.
  • Acceptance to post-secondary institution (college, technical school or university).

Special Conditions

  • Student applications should outline educational plans and reasons for pursing career path.
  • Financial need may be considered in the event of a tie.

Canfor Scholarship for Children of Grande Prairie Employees & Students Working in the Mill
$1,000

  • Established in 1995.
  • Administered by the Principal of Grande Prairie Composite High School assisted by representatives from the Catholic School System and the Peace Wapiti School System.

Criteria

  • Grade 12 graduate in year scholarship is awarded.
  • Acceptance to post-secondary institution (college, technical school, university).
  • Marks: Grade 12 blended diploma marks (average) and all Grade 12 (30 level) subjects (average).
  • Two letters of reference: (a) school related and (b) personal character (non-school).
  • Essay of 200 words or less outlining why recipient is deserving of scholarship.
  • Extra curricular activities at school and in the community considered.

  • Value: annual interest on $10,000 endowment with a minimum value of $500.
  • Established in the 1988-89 School Term as part of Canfor's 50th anniversary celebrations.

  • Awarded annually to a Grade 12 student currently enrolled in any of the following schools: Fairview High School, Worsley Central School, Hines Creek Composite School, or St. Thomas More School.
