Canadian Forest Products Ltd. Scholarship

Canadian Forest Products Ltd. will make available on an annual basis a scholarship or scholarships to Houston Christian School (HCS) graduating students who are children of Canadian Forest Products Ltd. - Houston employees. Established since 1993, the awards are intended to encourage graduating students to further their education and specifically to encourage them to consider the forest industry or a related career.

Criteria

  • Awarded to HCS graduating students who are children of Canadian Forest Products Ltd. - Houston employees and are enrolling in an accredited institution of higher education.
  • The scholarship ($500 annually) may be awarded to one student or may be divided among two or more students.
  • Applications are considered on the basis of scholastic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, and financial need.
  • The recipient(s) will be selected by Houston Christian School.
  • Application may be made through Houston Christian School.

Houston Secondary School

Canadian Forest Products Ltd. Scholarship

Canadian Forest Products Ltd. will make available on an annual basis a scholarship or scholarships to Houston Secondary School (HSS) graduating students who are employed at Canfor Houston, or are children of Canadian Forest Products Ltd. - Houston employees. Established since 1993, the awards are intended to encourage graduating students to further their education and specifically to encourage them to consider the forest industry or a related career.

Criteria

  • Awarded to HSS graduating students who are employed at Canfor Houston, or are children of Canadian Forest Products Ltd. - Houston employees and are enrolling in an accredited institution of higher education. If no suitable candidate is found who is employed at Canfor or is a child of a Canfor employee, the award will be given to the student with the highest GPA.
  • The scholarship (maximum of $2,000 annually) may be awarded to one student or may be divided among two or more students.
  • Applications are considered on the basis of scholastic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, and financial need.
  • The recipient(s) will be selected by Houston Secondary School.
  • Application may be made through Houston Secondary School.

Order of Preference:

  1. Student(s) attending an accredited university/college and enrolled in a program which leads to a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in forestry, engineering or wood sciences.
  2. Student(s) attending an accredited college, technical or vocational school and enrolled in a two-year program leading to a graduation in Forestry or Forest Products option.
  3. Student(s) attending an accredited university, college, technical or vocational school.
