Objective
At Canfor, we have a long tradition of investing in the communities that we call home. Canfor's Corporate Sponsorship and Donation Program serves as the principal funding entity for the company's charitable contributions. The program approves and allocates funding for organizations and events in an equitable manner in communities where we operate.
Funding Categories & Eligibility
Canfor's Sponsorship & Donations program funds charitable organizations that deliver innovative community programs focusing on:
- Youth and Education
- Community Enhancement
- Forestry and Environment
- Amateur Sports
- Health and Wellness
Canfor funds organizations and projects that meet the needs of the community and reflect our business goals and ideals. Canfor will seek out or give preference to unique or exclusive sponsorship or donation opportunities that will have a long-term and significant benefit to the community while providing the company with appropriate recognition.
Canfor provides funds to non-profit organizations and preference will be given to organizations that have been granted a charitable registration number by Revenue Canada.
Except in exceptional circumstances, Canfor does not provide funding to the following:
- Individual requests for personal donations/financial aid including pursuit of elite sport or cultural competition
- Schools (public or private) except through established scholarship and bursary programs
- Third-party fundraisers or professional solicitors
- Travel, accommodation, meal expenses, field trips and tours
- Religious or sectarian organizations (except where they represent non-denominational community and social support services)
- Service clubs or fraternal organizations that serve a limited constituency
- Groups, events and activities outside of Canada.
