Since its creation in 2011, the Softwood Lumber Board (SLB) has made an unprecedented impact on the softwood lumber industry through its work to promote the benefits and uses of softwood lumber products.
The infographic called the Softwood Lumber Board Impact Report provides a great overview of the SLB’s work and how it has positively contributed to the softwood lumber industry.
Here are just a few highlights:
- 800 million board feet of consumption has resulted from SLB investments since 2012
- 1 billion board feet protected against proposals limiting the use of wood in residential buildings above 2 stories
- 380 projects converted to wood, 49% of which were projects exceeding 50,000 square feet
