Canfor’s 2017 Sustainability Report Receives Award for Second Year

Sustainability: it’s part of everything we do. From planning woodland operations to delivering products to customers around the world, we make sustainability a focus and a priority at Canfor. This is why it gives me great pride to share that Canfor has once again been selected by the Finance Sustainability Initiative (FSI) for the Best Sustainability Report in the Renewable Resources and Alternative Energy category.

We are honoured to receive this award for a second year in a row, signifying our commitment to sustainability in all areas of our work and operations. This award proves that we are living up to our core value of being responsible steward of the environment, and that our significant contributions to the reporting aspect of business are leading the way towards a more sustainable world.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, Canfor proactively and publicly reports on our goals and practices. In our annual joint Canfor and Canfor Pulp Sustainability Report, we communicate what we do and how we do it, as well as what we have accomplished.

Bill Adams, Senior Director, Sustainability, Customer Service and Innovation, attended the awards ceremony in Montreal, Quebec on February 1 and accepted the award on Canfor’s behalf.

Congratulations to all the other companies which were recognized by FSI for their sustainability efforts. Canfor is proud to be included in this group of Canadian public companies that are demonstrating leadership and excellence in sustainability reporting.
