Supporting the Future of Forestry with Co-op Program

This is an exciting time to be part of the forestry industry and to support our future workforce, and Canfor is continuing its tradition of helping students gain workplace experience. We are proud to once again offer co-op opportunities in various aspects of our business.

Syed is a Mechanical Engineer co-op completing a work term with Canfor in Bear Lake, BC.

Whether in a mill, office, field operations or research centre, our co-op students gain valuable work experience and skills that help prepare them for their future. Although Canfor hires co-ops throughout the year, we see a surge in co-op students this time of year. This spring, Canfor welcomed 14 co-ops across our solid wood and pulp locations, with two of those students completing their second co-op term here at Canfor.

Kevin and Tristin are completing their co-op work terms in Prince George, BC. Kevin is an Energy Management co-op and Tristin is an Environmental co-op.

Our co-op program continues to be effective in attracting and retaining talent that increases enthusiasm and drive in the work place. In many cases, co-op students are offered full-time positions once their education is complete. Overall, we’re pleased with the success rate of our co-op students and to invest in their educational experience.
