Don Kayne

Chief Executive Officer, Canfor Corporation and Canfor Pulp

Don Kayne was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Canfor Corporation on May 5, 2011. He was additionally appointed Chief Executive Officer of Canfor Pulp Products Incorporated on September 30, 2012.

Don has spent his entire career at Canfor, starting out as a regional sales representative in 1979. Don is motivated by what lays ahead for the forest sector as the global population and demand for sustainable, renewable products grows. Prior to being appointed CEO, Don spent 10 years as Canfor’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and is one of the lead architects of the market for British Columbia lumber in China. Don’s work growing markets for Canfor products around the world has provided him with deep connections to markets and customers in every region Canfor serves.

Don is currently a Director and Past Chairman of the Forest Products Association of Canada, Council of Forest Industries, Alberta Forest Products Association and the BC Lumber Trade Council. In 2014, Don was appointed to the bi-national Softwood Lumber Board and currently serves as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Programs Committee. He is also Chairman of the charitable organization Educating Girls of Rural China Foundation, which works to transform the lives of women and communities in rural areas of western China by providing access to education.

Brett Robinson

President, Canfor Pulp

Brett Robinson was appointed President of Canfor Pulp on September 30, 2012 and before this was Executive Vice President, Operations since 2008. Brett joined the company in 1989 and has spent more than 25 years with Canfor and Canfor Pulp.

If you ask Brett what makes Canfor Pulp successful, he will tell you it’s the people. Giving the people in the organization the tools to succeed and the room to learn and grow in their roles is what motivates him. Brett and his team are focussed on continuing to improve Canfor Pulp’s global position as a leading, top quartile producer of Sustainable Premium Pulp, Paper and Power Products.

Brett has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Manitoba and is a Registered Professional Engineer.

David Calabrigo, QC

Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary

David Calabrigo was appointed Senior Vice President, Corporate and Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary on May 6, 2011.

David joined Canfor as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in January 2001. In addition to his extensive responsibilities heading legal and corporate compliance for the Company, David is in charge of mergers and acquisitions – a key portfolio for a company that continues to grow at home and abroad.

Born and raised in Vancouver, David received his Law degree from the University of Alberta and an appointment as Queen’s Counsel in 2010.

Mark Feldinger

Senior Vice President, Energy, Environment, Transportation and Sourcing

Mark Feldinger was appointed Senior Vice President, Energy, Environment, Transportation and Sourcing on May 6, 2011. Mark began his career at Canfor in 1984, a year after obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from the University of British Columbia. Throughout his 30 years with the company, he has held a variety of roles in woodlands and manufacturing divisions of the Company.

Among Mark’s responsibilities is driving Canfor’s energy strategy – growing our biomass energy self-reliance as well as new economic opportunities in the production of green energy. Sustainable energy use and production is a growing element of Canfor’s sustainability commitment, a portfolio that Mark has been extensively involved in advancing for years. Canfor is a recognized leader in sustainable forest management, and Mark’s passion and leadership are key drivers of the continuous improvement of the Company’s environmental performance. Externally, Mark participates in a variety of capacities, including his current role as Board Chair for FP Innovations.

Mark is a Registered Professional Forester with the Association of B.C. Forest Professionals and is a talented finishing carpenter who enjoys woodworking in his spare time.

Wayne Guthrie

Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Wayne Guthrie was appointed Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing on May 6, 2011.

Born and raised in Ontario, Wayne began his career with Canfor in 1984 and developed an extensive knowledge of North American and offshore forest products markets during more than 28 years with the company.

Wayne drives Canfor’s commitment to customer satisfaction. He leads a motivated sales group that is focused on growing Canfor’s brand recognition and building on the strong relationships Canfor has with our valued customers around the world. Wayne also has significant experience in supply chain optimization, leading Canfor’s strategic programs to refine logistics to improve our customer service.

Alan Nicholl

Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Alan Nicholl was appointed Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer on May 6, 2011. Alan also holds the position of Chief Financial Officer of Canfor Pulp Products Incorporated, effective September 30, 2012. Alan joined Canfor as Corporate Controller on April 1, 2008. For ten years prior to this, he held various senior financial positions within the Canadian forest products industry.

Born and raised in Northern Ireland, Alan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Accounting from Bristol University, England in 1985. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia.

Tracey joined Canfor on September 1, 2014 as Senior Vice President, People and Culture. Tracey is passionate about creating a culture that enables employees to realize their full potential and ensures that the organization attracts and retains the talent it needs to be an industry leader and THE employer of choice. Tracey is responsible for an integrated Talent strategy that ensures that Canfor can attract, develop and retain the people it needs to support our growth. Tracey believes you should only “do that which you love to do so that work doesn’t feel like work.”

Prior to joining Canfor, Tracey was Chief Talent Officer for SAP AG, where she had the amazing opportunity to spend 10 years traveling the world gaining experience working with business leaders and employees across North America, Europe and Asia.

In addition to sitting on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement BC, Tracey is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon.

Stephen Mackie

Vice President, Operations Canada

Stephen Mackie was appointed Vice President, Operations Canada, on October 22, 2014.

Stephen has been with Canfor more than 10 years, most recently as Director, Capital and Strategic Projects, where he aligned business and customer needs by overseeing more than $450 million in capital investments and supporting Canfor’s expansion into the southeast United States.

Raised in Houston, British Columbia, Stephen started working in sawmills when he was 16, before going to the University of British Columbia to earn a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

Stephen’s extensive experience in wood products manufacturing and woodlands management places him in an ideal position to help Canfor meet the rapidly changing needs of the modern forest industry and growing global markets. He supports the sector by serving on the board of the Canadian Mill Services Association.

Peter Bentley

Chairman Emeritus

Peter Bentley, O.C., LL.D., of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada has served on Board of the Company since 1966. Mr. Bentley is Co-chairman and a director of HSPP General Partner Ltd., the general partner of Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Limited Partnership. Mr. Bentley is a director of Canfor Pulp Holding Inc., the general partner of Canfor Pulp Limited Partnership.

After working in various positions throughout the Company, Mr. Bentley became Executive Vice-President in 1970, President in 1975, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) in 1985, a position he held until April 24, 1995. Mr. Bentley was reappointed to the position of President and CEO of the Company on July 25, 1997 and relinquished the position of President and CEO of the Company on January 1, 1998.

Mr. Bentley is President and a director of Sierra Mountain Minerals Inc. and a member of the Board of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research, a member of the Advisory Board of BuildDirect.com and a Trustee and Chair Emeritus of the Vancouver General Hospital and University of British Columbia Hospital Foundation. He also served for many years as a director of Bank of Montreal and Shell Canada Ltd. [Mr. Bentley is Chancellor of the University of Northern British Columbia.] Mr. Bentley holds an Honorary Doctorate of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Bentley chairs the Corporate Governance Committee and is a member of the Company's Management, Resources and Compensation Committee, Environmental, Health and Safety Committee and Joint Capital Expenditure Committee.

Glen Clark

Glen Clark, of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada was elected to the Board of the Company in May 2009.

Mr. Clark joined the Jim Pattison Group in 2001 as General Manager of the Pattison Sign Group responsible for British Columbia.

In 2002, he was promoted to Vice-President of the Pattison Sign Group for Western Canada. He held this position until January 2004 when he joined the Pattison News Group as President for Canada. In 2005, Mr. Clark was appointed Executive Vice-President of the Jim Pattison Group. In that capacity, he has corporate responsibility for Pattison Sign, Canadian Fishing Company, Jim Pattison Lease and Ripley Entertainment. Mr. Clark is also a member of the Board of Directors of Sun-Rype Products Ltd.

Prior to 2001, Mr. Clark served as Premier of British Columbia from February 1996 to August 1999. He was Minister of Finance and Corporate Relations from November 1991 to September 1993 and Minister of Employment and Investment from September 1993 until February 1996. Mr. Clark was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1986 to represent the constituency of Vancouver-East. In the 1991 and 1996 general elections, he was re-elected to represent the constituency of Vancouver-Kingsway.

Mr. Clark holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University and a master’s degree in community and regional planning from the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Clark is a member of the Environmental Health & Safety Committee and the Pension Committee.

Michael Korenberg

Mr. Korenberg is the Deputy Chairman & Managing Director of The Jim Pattison Group, a diversified group of companies based in Vancouver. In that capacity, Mr. Korenberg is responsible for corporate development activities for The Jim Pattison Group, including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and investments. Mr. Korenberg is also the Chairman of Canfor Pulp Products Inc. Mr. Korenberg is a director of Jim Pattison Group Inc. (and its affiliates), Canfor, Canfor Pulp and Westshore Terminals Investment Corporation. From 1990 – 2014, Mr. Korenberg was an adjunct professor, Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia teaching a course entitled ‘Corporate Transactions’. Mr. Korenberg is a member of the Dean's Advisory Committee for the Centre for Business Law at UBC and a member of the Law Societies of Upper Canada (Ontario) and British Columbia.

Conrad Pinette

Conrad Pinette of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada was appointed to the Company’s Board on May 2, 2008.

Mr. Pinette's work in the Canadian forest industry began 40 years ago as an owner and President of a family lumber business, Pinette & Therrien Mills Ltd. Mr. Pinette has also served as Executive Vice President, Tolko Industries Ltd. (2005), Executive Vice President, Riverside Forest Products Limited (2004) and served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Lignum Limited from January 1990 to April 2004.

Mr. Pinette is the former Chairman of Finning International Inc. and is currently a Director of Finning International Inc., TimberWest Forest Corp, Northgate Minerals Corporation, A&W Revenue Royalties Income Fund, and a past Director of the British Columbia Business Council.

Mr. Pinette chairs the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety Committee and is a member of the Joint Capital Expenditure Committee, Management Resources and Compensation Committee and the Corporate Governance Committee.

J. McNeill Singleton

J. McNeill (Mack) Singleton, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA has served on the Board of the Company since 2007. Mr. Singleton is the CEO of New South Companies, Inc. (“New South”), headquartered in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. New South is a wholly owned subsidiary of CFP.

Mr. Singleton has 35 years of experience in the wood products industry, all with New South or its predecessor companies, and has been CEO of New South since 1985. He has served on the boards of numerous industry associations and committees and is past chairman of the US Coalition for Fair Lumber Imports and the Southern Forest Products Association. He is involved with many civic organizations including serving on the Board of Visitors of Coastal Carolina University’s Wall School of Business and is Past President and Chairman of the United Way of Horry County.

Mr. Singleton received a BA degree from Presbyterian College, a J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and completed the PMD Program at Harvard Business School.

Mr. Singleton is a member of the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety and Joint Capital Expenditure Committee.

Ross Smith

Ross Smith, of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada was elected to the Board of the Company in May 2009.

Mr. Smith had a successful 35 year career at KPMG LLP where he held various roles, including Managing Partner for British Columbia region and served for 13 years on the National Management Committee prior to his retirement in 1998. While in public practice, Mr. Smith served major public and private companies, many of which were in the forest industry, from an audit and securities perspective.

Mr. Smith is a member of the Board of Directors of HSBC Bank Canada, Kal Tire Ltd. and Rotherham Holdings Ltd. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Marsh Canada Limited and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for K-Bro Linen Income Fund.

Mr. Smith has served on many charitable and community boards in past years and currently is a member of the Board of Governors of the University of British Columbia. Mr. Smith qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1962 and was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 1990.

Mr. Smith chairs both the Audit Committee and the Pension Committee and is a member of the Management Resources and Compensation Committee.

Stan E. Bracken-Horrocks

Stan E. Bracken-Horrocks, FCA, of Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada was appointed to the Board of the General Partner on April 28, 2006. Mr. Bracken-Horrocks has been a director of CPPI since December 10, 2010 and served as a Trustee of the Fund from April 26, 2006 until January 1, 2011.

Mr. Bracken-Horrocks is a retired partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and held various leadership positions during his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, including Global Leader of its Forest and Paper Industry practice. As a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Mr. Bracken-Horrocks served as a member of the Board of Governors and a member of the Accounting Standards Committee and, as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, he served as a member of council, Vice-President and President. Mr. Bracken-Horrocks is a director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Business Development Bank of Canada.

Mr. Bracken-Horrocks chairs the General Partner’s Audit Committee and is a member of the Compensation Committee.

Charles Jago

Charles J. Jago, PhD, C.M., of Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, was appointed to the Board of the General Partner on April 28, 2006. Dr. Jago is Chairman of CPPI since December 10, 2010 and served as a Trustee of the Fund from April 26, 2006 until January 1, 2011.

Dr. Jago was President of the University of Northern British Columbia 1995-2006 and on an interim basis from 2008-09. Dr. Jago’s professional service has included membership on the Boards of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Office of Partnerships for Advanced Skills (OPAS) and Partnerships B.C. Dr. Jago has also served as Chair of the Council of Western University Presidents, The University President’s Council of British Columbia, and the Northern BC United Way. He currently chairs the Boards of Northern Health Authority of British Columbia, Fraser Basin Council and the Sinclair Group Lumber Products. He also serves as a member of the Board of Initiatives Prince George and the Canada West Foundation.

Dr. Jago received his BA in Honours English and History from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, graduating as the Honours gold medalist from Huron University College (an affiliated college of The University of Western Ontario), and received a PhD in History from Cambridge University. Dr. Jago was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for community service in 2003 and the Order of Canada in 2006.
