MSR Lumber is stress rated by direct machine testing to ensure a minimum strength performance in engineered applications such as trusses.
Canfor has grown to become North America's dominant producer of SPF MSR, which is manufactured at 7 of our primary sawmills: Houston, Prince George Sawmill, Grande Prairie, Radium, Quesnel, Mackenzie, Plateau. Canfor applies strict quality controls across all the mills to ensure a higher level of product consistency throughout the year.
Our excellent fibre supply ensures that we are able to make a consistent quality MSR product. In addition, because our fibre grows in the cold northern climates of British Columbia and Alberta, the short growing seasons and cold conditions help to produce straighter and more stable lumber than many other regions of the world.
The majority of Canfor's MSR production is made from Western SPF, however, other species are also available.
