A framing member graded for strength and stiffness so it can be used as a vertical member of a wall, including load-bearing walls. Canfor manufactures both solid and Finger joined Studs. All products are made to meet the NLGA grade rules and are ideal for use in the USA and Canada. Depending on requirements our studs are stamped either No2 or Stud grade.

Benefits of Canfor Finger Joined Studs
All lumber starts its life as a straight piece of wood. If not correctly dried or if there are inherent features and defects in the wood there can be a tendency for some pieces to warp over time. This generally happens along the length of the piece. When small pieces of lumber are joined together in a Finger joined Stud this tendency is removed, as the stresses in each individual piece are not strong enough to move the entire stud. This results in straight and more stable lumber than solid studs.
Canfor manufactures Finger joined studs at a select number of our primary mills and remanufacturing facilities. In addition, Canfor also markets the finger joined production of East Fraser Fibre - the Parallel 55 brand of studs are sold by Canfor. Depending on requirements, our studs are stamped either No2 or Stud grade.
