Canfor is a member of a pulp and paper industry group, led by FPAC, that signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Government to reduce total greenhouse gas emissions by an additional 1.4 Mt of CO2. This landmark agreement was the first such commitment by any Canadian industrial sector. This came on top of a spectacular 12-year period where the Canadian Pulp and Paper industry had cut total GHG emissions by almost 28%, a period in which total production had increased by 30%.
