Making the Season Brighter

One of the best things about the holiday season is having a chance to make life better for those facing tough times. At Canfor, our company and our employees know the joy that comes with giving back to our local communities at this time of the year.

One of my favourite holiday traditions is Canfor’s annual donation to important services such as food banks, the Salvation Army and Christmas bureau societies. This year a total of $25,000 will be divided among 25 communities in Canada and the United States.

On top of that, groups of employees across the company are sponsoring families, delivering holiday baskets of gifts and goodies, and doing everything they can to make the season brighter for so many people.

Through the year, Canfor supports the important work of the BC Children's Hospital. Once again, we are a proud sponsor of its Festival of Trees fund raiser. Our tree is among many on display at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver and CF Pacific Centre Mall until Jan. 1, 2018, and you can donate online to vote for it.

Canfor is once again participating in the Vancouver Festival of Trees to help raise funds for the BC Children's Hospital.

We contributed $5,000 to the annual St. Paul's Foundation Lights of Hope campaign. The spectacular display of lights in downtown Vancouver raises money for work that saves and transforms lives, and advances medical research.

Canfor's star is one of many shining brightly at Vancouver's St. Paul's Hospital.

We provided $3,000 for a reception in advance of the Festival of Trees gala auction in Prince George. It raises money for equipment and enhancements to health care in the region through the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

Canfor is committed to safety throughout the year, and the holidays are certainly no exception. As a gold sponsor of Operation Red Nose in Prince George, we donated $2,500 to help a great team of volunteers keep impaired drivers off the road in the city during the holidays.

On behalf of everyone at Canfor, may your holidays be safe and happy, and best wishes for 2018.
