Our Canadian Indigenous Relations Policy.

In 2025, Canfor will adopt a new Canadian Indigenous Relationships Policy to communicate our strategic direction to Canfor staff, Indigenous communities and external parties. It states our aspiration to be the forest company partner of choice for Indigenous communities and that mutually beneficial partnerships are a mechanism to achieve this.

Creating opportunity and building respect.

This work is essential to building stronger relationships in the communities where we operate.

Engagement and longstanding agreements.

As a company that operates on the traditional territories of many Indigenous communities, our engagement needs to go beyond legislated requirements. We seek out opportunities to build on Indigenous education, cultural learnings, regional activities and economic partnerships.
