Canfor Sponsors Students to Participate in Innovation Event

For the second time, Canfor is delighted to partner with Schweighofer in support of global innovation in forestry. Canfor is sponsoring nine students from universities across Canada and the United States to attend the prestigious bi-annual Schweighofer Prize ceremony and participate in the student innovation workshop conference, with Canfor as a co-sponsor. With this opportunity, the students will have the opportunity to share their breakthrough research, meet innovative industry leaders and participate in international networking. Both events will take place in Vienna, Austria next week.

Since 2003, the Schweighofer Prize ceremony takes place every two years and awards those with innovative ideas, technologies, products and services that strengthen the competitiveness of the forest sector.

I am proud that Canfor is involved once again in this important gathering that celebrates innovation in forestry. I look forward to participating in the student workshop where, in addition to sharing my views on some topics that are timely and relevant to the industry and the students, I will have an opportunity to connect with and hear from the students whose innovative thinking and research is and will continue to make a positive impact on our industry.

Canfor is proud to invest in this opportunity that spotlights innovation in our industry and to support this group of students who have the potential to be our industry’s future leaders.
