Sustainable Enterprise Model

Canfor Pulp’s Sustainable Enterprise model embraces environmental, social and economic considerations and is committed to the responsible and efficient use of resources to create more value for all stakeholders, with less impact on the environment.

The constituents of the wood fibre we receive that remain after the pulping process – lignin, hemicelluloses and other organic materials – are put to good use as well. They are converted into carbon neutral energy to power our manufacturing process and the BC electricity grid.

Canfor Pulp generated 951,347 MWh of biomass electrical production in 2017, which was slightly less than our 2016 annual record. Canfor Pulp’s goal is to exceed one million MWh, and we plan to achieve this in 2018.
